The entire cost of our program is possible thanks to generous donations from individuals, service clubs, businesses, foundations, and bequests. We do not receive any government funding for our programs.
Our dogs are placed free of charge with recipients nationwide and in Canada. Your contribution to Dogs for the Deaf, Inc. makes a HUGE impact in our helping rescue unwanted dogs and training them to help others. With your gift you are making an investment in developing an extraordinary life-long, human-animal partnership and team. There are a variety of interactive relationships that develop through trainers, volunteers and staff to make the perfect match for a recipient. Every dollar donated is leveraged through our corporate and community partnerships, volunteers, staff, foster parents and others to maximize the services we provide for those in need.
DFD Giving Opportunities
You can direct your contribution to our:
General Fund - gifts are used to support our on-going:
operational needs
special projects
training program
placements of dogs with approved applicants
on-going follow up of our person/dog partnerships
equipment needs
and other needs to support our special work.
Building Fund - gifts are used to expand, upgrade and maintain our training facility.
Endowment Fund- gifts are invested wisely and prudently and the principal remains intact in perpetuity or for a specified time, and the interest is used to provide a secure source of future funds benefiting generations to come.
Toys for Joy - gifts are used for the enrichment, enhancement, and motivation of the dogs in training, including but not limited to dog toys and treats, agility equipment, and outdoor play equipment.
Veterinary Fund- gifts are used to provide the very best veterinary care for the dogs while they are in training.
Dogs for the Deaf, Inc. is a nonprofit, charitable organization under the provisions of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Tax ID #93-0681311). Donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by federal and state laws.
Canadian Donations
According to Canadian law, your donation to DFD is tax deductible. To maximize your donation, gifts of money orders in U.S. Dollars are greatly appreciated.
